Saturday’s Farm Finds

IMG_2692IMG_2698IMG_2700IMG_2702

2 lbs ground beef, bulk pork sausage, a dozen eggs, 1 lb local honey, bulk fresh butter, dozen cider donuts (notice we upped the ante from last week), homemade raspberry and peach yogurt, three tomatoes, six peaches, pint blueberries and pint gigantic blackberries.

$45.38

We could have done more damage, but I was short on cash so….with our own squash, zucchini and green beans, this week is looking pretty tasty.

  1. Yummy!! Fantastic farm finds! Love your photos. You are making me think I need to try making flavored yogurt next. I always make plain so I can add honey and what ever fruit I have around the house, but that peach yogurt is looking really good!

  2. Yum…you have no idea how bad I want those dang donuts! It also inspires me to make my own yogurt…sometime!

  3. is that your only shopping for the week?
everything you brought home looks so fresh. love it.

  4. i have yet to do yogurt. it’s on my list for possibly over the winter or next year. right now it’s nice to have a supplier down the road.

those are cider donuts and they had just come out this morning, so we got the whole dozen!

i did go to the grocery for other odd things i cannot get, bananas, sour cream, pierogies, rice….but it’s nice to have so much coming from your own neighbors!

we have a wonderful meat supplier and the fruit, veg, yogurt and donuts are coming from a wonderful Amish family right around the corner, less than five minutes away! we go on Wednesday and Saturday and we’ve gotten on quite well together.

  5. Your pickings for the week look lovely! I’ve never heard of cider donuts…is that apple cider donuts? Sounds yummy!

  7. Wishing I had a couple of those donuts for breakfast this morning. They look delish. It all looks delish. I think you scored!

  8. how lucky!! those blueberries look super yummy πŸ™‚ actually it all looks super yummy. have a great Sunday

  9. PS- Thanks for the honey link! I liked their web site and honey varieties. I’d have to say our honey is wildflower/blueberry. About the 8lb of oatmeal.. I use it to make homemade granola. One batch uses two cups of oatmeal and 1/2 c. honey, so we go through it pretty quick – especially with using it in cookies and hot breakfast cereal. I am trying so hard not to buy processed snacks. I’d love one of your donuts right about now..

  10. What a beautiful haul! It’s so much fun to see what people buy at the farmers’ market. I bet everything was delicious. πŸ™‚

  11. That looks amazing! There isn’t a single thing that doesn’t look delicious.
